DHI Singapore offers intern / trainee attachment programmes for university students who wish to further their education through practical training. The intern / trainee program is open to final year undergraduate students, recent graduates and Master students throughout the year.

We look for students who have a good understanding in their selected fields. Short-listed candidates will be selected for interviews. Accepted candidates will need to commit at least six months of full-time attachment at DHI. They will be assigned to a DHI staff, who will be their Mentor throughout their attachment and provide them with training in their selected fields.

Interns / Trainees will also be provided opportunities to assist in field and habitat assessment surveys around Singapore. Interns who are certified in Advanced Open Water SCUBA, and demonstrate that they are current on their diving skills, may be allowed to assist in various underwater surveys.

Interns are encouraged to implement individual projects related to their area of interest. At the end of the internship, interns may be required to submit a project report or make a presentation to a management panel. Interns who have demonstrated good performance may be considered for emplacement upon completion of the internship.
