Modelling & Hydroinformatics Department

The Modelling & Hydroinformatics department is a highly skilled team of 8 professionals operating in both consulting and major project support capacities. The team has made significant contributions to many large development projects in the past 6 years throughout South East Asia.

The Modelling & Hydroinformatices department provides specialist coastal engineering services for environmental impact assessment, coastal zone management, port developments, offshore oil and gas development, coastal land developers and government organisations. Key skill sets include hydrodynamics, waves, sediment transport, water quality modelling, coastal zone management and metocean design criteria assessment. The department also works closely with the R&D department on synergistic projects.

The preferred candidates should possess a Masters Degree in coastal / civil engineering (or related discipline) or the ability to demonstrate sufficient experience in lieu of an advanced degree. Excellent communication and writing skills and ability to work in a team-orientated environment are required for all positions.

Position #01 - Junior Coastal / Hydraulic Engineer (0 - 3 years experience)

Reasonable experience and expertise in any of the following areas:

  • Numerical modeling studies related to waves, hydrodynamics, tidal hydraulics, and sediment processes; vessel mooring/maneuvering analysis; coastal structure design; waterfront and marina planning and design; dredging/reclamation projects.
  • The candidate should demonstrate a willingness to learn and be able to travel abroad for short periods of training or project work.

Position #02 - Senior Coastal / Hydraulic Engineer (3 - 10 years experience)

Specific and well-documented expertise and project management in any of the following areas:

  • Numerical modeling of all coastal processes (such as cohesive and non-cohesive sediment transport, beach processes, waves, hydrodynamics) related to dredging/reclamation projects, port, marina, and waterfront projects (knowledge in DHI Mike software preferred and considered favourably). The ideal should demonstrate well developed problem solving skills, a proven ability to apply numerical models relevant to coastal processes and some project management experience. Willingness to travel will be an added advantage.

 

Environmental Services Department

Position #03 – Jr. GIS Scientist (0-2 years experience)

We are looking for a full-time GIS scientist who can work independently but is also an excellent team leader and player. Work scope involves integration and mapping of GIS data, assistance to the GIS Manager in database management, and provision of training and support to GIS users within the organization.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a GIS, remote sensing and/or an environmental discipline.
  • 1-2 years of working and/or research experience in GIS.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS 9.x software or related software is essential.
  • Good organizational, people and analytical skills advantageous.
  • Fresh graduates who can show evidence of capabilities will be considered.

Position #04 – Jr. Marine Biologist

We are looking for a full-time marine biologist who can work independently but is also an excellent team leader and player.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Good knowledge of marine life.
  • Relevant advanced diver certifications.
  • Good planning, inter-personal and communication skills essential.

Software Solution Department

Position #05 – Software Engineer (> 3 years experience)

We are looking for a full-time experienced developer who can work independently but is also an excellent team leader and player. Work scope involves largely in design and development of web applications and some desktop applications as software solutions in coastal engineering discipline.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years working experience in application design, development and maintenance, preferably in area of web application.
  • Skilled in Microsoft DotNet development (ie. C#.Net), Java, Javascript, XML Technology, or other high-level programming languages.
  • Possess fair understanding of computer network, relational database (RDBM) and application security.
  • Candidate with knowledge in web technologies and experience in complete web-based software development life cycle (SDLC) and GIS are at advantage.
  • Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant disciplines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Position #06 – Database Administrator (preferred 1 - 2 years experience):

We are currently looking to recruit a full-time experienced database administrator who can work independently but is also an excellent team player. Main responsibilities will include the maintenance and support of current SQL server databases and development of device drivers for specified marine instruments. You will get chance to build an exciting career and be part of a development team, involved in designing and developing of web applications and desktop applications as software solutions in coastal engineering discipline.

Requirements

  • Working experience in design, implementation and maintenance of MSSQL or MYSQL.
  • Working experience in application design, development and maintenance.
  • Skilled in Microsoft DotNet development (ie. C#.Net), VB, or other high-level programming languages.
  • Possess good understanding of relational database (RDBM) and application security.
  • Knowledge of GSM modem communication is an advantage.
  • Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant disciplines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

 

IT Department

Position #07 – System Support Officer (> 3 years experience)

Due to rapid expansion we are looking at the following:

  • Perform project implementation / testing / documentation / maintenance.
  • Maintain office network / servers / IT inventory.
  • Assist in-house IT-related issues including provide assistance and desktop technical support to end-users.
  • Other project tasks assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years working experience maintaining IT in large corporation.
  • Degree holder in Electrical and Electronic Engineering / Computer Engineering or other relevant disciplines.
  • Strong Microsoft technical knowledge in Active Directory, Exchange 2003/2007 2003/2007 server.
  • Virtualization server (VMware ESXi) and Symantec Backup Exec and DLO.
  • Visual Basic programming, Power Shell scripting & Linux would be an advantage.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • A good team player with good communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Full time position.

HR Department

Position #08 – HR and Payroll Administrator

Responsibilities:

  • Perform full spectrum of payroll processing for both Locals and Foreign Employees which includes allowances, overtime pay, reimbursements.
  • Upkeep and administer leave records for all staff.
  • Administer and prompt distribution of monthly pay-slips.
  • Manage day to day HR operational matters including work pass, staff insurance and welfare administration.

Requirements:

  • Able to relate well with people at all levels and perform effectively in a fast paced environment.
  • Resourceful, self-driven and high degree of professional integrity.
  • Analytical and has an eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.

 

Finance Department

Position #09 – Senior Accountant

Requirements:

  • Degree in accounting or ACCA graduate.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in full-set accounting with at least 2 years in supervisory role.
  • Have strong accounting and record keeping aptitude with accuracy in mind.
  • Organised and have effective planning skills.
  • Able to set priorities, handle complex and tight deadline tasks.
  • Proactive, able to work well both independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be familiar with Singapore tax laws, Microsoft Excel & Word.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall financial project management: check contracts against budgets, timely invoicing of projects, monitor overall project costs, manage the daily operations for projects, etc.
  • Responsible for research centre’s progress claims to EDB.
  • Responsible for withholding tax payments, tax computations, GST return, audit schedules, intercompany billings and statements.
  • Involve in month-end closing activities, cash flow projections.
  • Assist Financial Controller to oversee daily operational activities, month-end closing activities in the department, including but not limited to, compliance with legislation and accounting standards.
  • Assist Financial Controller to review internal controls, policies, procedures and reporting requirements and recommend improvements.
  • Other adhoc tasks such as training new users to use ERP system, statistical reporting.
