GeoFES is an ESRI ArcGIS-based (geographic information system) software that backs decision makers at fire brigades and disaster management services. GeoFES supports efficient action in the event of fires, natural disasters (storms, floods), anthropogenic environmental changes, nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) incidents, epidemics and accidents. It can also be used for preventive planning and training purposes.

GeoFES focuses on the following main topics:

• Very easy and fast identification of the emergency location by several ways such as addresses, streets, crossings, water and highway sections, objects, dikes and zooming to the place in the interactive map
• Fast and easy access to all available and required information to have a comprehensive view of all the current risk enabling better preparation and decision making
• Delineation of endangered and search areas by predefining, constructing and modeling (hazard substances in the air and flooding) 
• Detailed analysis and evaluation of the endangered area such as population statistics, address list, list of buildings
• perational management of emergency services by various, easy-to-use selection criteria as the basis for decisions regarding the available and required resources
• Creation of well designed hand maps and table overviews for all fire fighters without digital equipment
